Director JJ Abrams loves to just give us enough info about his films to keep it in our minds while not giving too much away. This little behind the scenes featurette that was released pays testament to that, as most of the footage has already been released while the interviews with the cast and Mr. Abrams himself doesn’t reveal too much anyway. But what the hell, its STAR TREK INTO DAKRNESS, so check out because you will still enjoy what they have to see and what you will be seeing.

The director leaves us with this thought: “This is everything I’ve ever done, wrapped up in one movie” — which is only true if Benedict is a recent high school graduate who followed Chris Pine to the Starfleet Academy and Alice Eve is a spy.

When I read the basic premise of this film, I just thought it was a real stupid idea, looking at the trailer I still think it’s a stupid idea but a very intriguing stupid idea at that.

As much as I wanted to hate, I couldn’t help myself but to watch the entire trailer and actually consider watching this film. Its an original concept that I didn’t want to like but it seems it will be well executed thanks to good story-telling.

Here’s the synopsis, “Adam is a seemingly ordinary guy in a very extraordinary universe. He lives humbly trying to make ends meet, but his romantic spirit holds on to the memory of a girl he loved once upon a time from another world, an inverted affluent world with its own gravity, directly above but beyond reach... a girl named Eden. Their childhood flirtation becomes an impossible love. But when he catches a glimpse of grownup Eden on television, nothing will get in the way of getting her back... Not even the law or science!”

Kim Nguyen's Oscar Nominated African Drama 'War Witch'

This film was nowhere near my radar, but when it got a Oscar Nomination it certainly got had my curiosity. I then went to go and checjk out the trailer and now I have to admit its, I understand why it got nominated.

Just by watching this less than 2minute trailer, you certainly get a sense of the tension, atmosphere and the just of the story from the film, which does intrigue. II will be making sure that I will see the film when it releases!

One of the Best Foreign Film nominees in this year's Oscars is War Witch, a film about Komona (Rachel Mwanza) who is only 12 years old when she is kidnapped by rebel soldiers and enslaved to a life of guerrilla warfare in the African jungle. Forced to commit unspeakable acts of brutality, she finds hope for survival in protective, ghost-like visions (inspiring a rebel chief to anoint her "War Witch"), and in a tender relationship with a fellow soldier named Magician (Serge Kanyinda). War Witch is written and directed by filmmaker Kim Nguyen.
